ABOUT JON BURDEKIN
Prior to setting up Jon Burdekin Fleet Consulting Ltd, I gained 30 years’ experience in the UK leasing and fleet finance industry, having previously worked for such major leasing companies as Alphabet GB Ltd and GE Capital Fleet Services. I am also a Member of the Institute of Car Fleet Management (MICFM) and the Association of Fleet Professionals (MAFP).
My 15-year career with Alphabet incorporated roles as Account Manager, Head of Account Management, Head of Consulting Services and Head of Product Management, with responsibility for managing teams in developing relationships with all key customers, as well as leading the consultancy division to add key value differentiation and technical innovation.
I am now an established industry advisor on the subject of Electric Vehicle adoption – supporting such industry bodies as the BVRLA and Association of Fleet Professionals.
Electric Vehicle Adoption
With the ban of the sale of new petrol and diesel vehicles being brought forward to 2030, businesses will need to start to make the transition to EVs soon but may not know where to start this journey or what it entails.
Having created a detailed EV strategy roadmap, with supporting implementation plan, I can provide support and guidance to facilitate this journey, to unlock the commercial and environmental savings associated with the adoption of EVs.
Electric Vehicle Training
Your sales teams and customer service colleagues may require some additional knowledge to understand the developing EV market and answer any questions their clients may have as they move into a new world of technology.
I am experienced in delivering training in all matters relating to Electric Vehicles – regularly achieving satisfaction results of 98% + from the delegates for the training.
This tax efficient method of offering employee benefits has been established for many years, and because of the current Benefit in Kind incentives available on Ultra Low Emission Vehicles (EVs and PHEVs), provides a route to offer significant financial savings to both employee and employer in offering EVs to all employees.
It will also, of course, contribute to a wider carbon reduction programme that an employer may have in place. With extensive experience in the salary sacrifice sector, I can help businesses put such schemes in place.
Grey Fleet Management and Duty of Care
As well as becoming a subject matter expert in Electric Vehicle adoption, I have also acquired deep levels of knowledge in helping clients satisfy the Duty of Care they have to employees driving on business, aligned with robust Grey Fleet Management.
Now established as an independent consultant since January 2019, I can offer the benefits of my experience and knowledge to leasing companies, brokers, and clients running fleets of vehicles – with particular interest in the field of EVs.
